1. Eligibility and Apple Services
You must satisfy the age and eligibility requirements that apply to your Apple Account, Game Center, and jurisdiction. A parent or guardian is responsible for a child's permitted use. Online multiplayer and Trivington Social require an eligible Game Center account; cross-device progression requires iCloud. Trivington Social is unavailable when Game Center reports that multiplayer or communication is restricted, including applicable child or parentally restricted accounts. Local bot play does not require a Trivington Social account.
2. License to Use the App
Trivington grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app for non-commercial entertainment, subject to these terms and Apple's applicable rules.
3. Fair and Respectful Play
You agree not to:
- Use offensive, deceptive, or impersonating display names or profile content
- Harass, threaten, or abuse other players
- Exploit defects or tamper with scores, answer timing, matchmaking, or results
- Use automation, modified clients, or external tools to gain an unfair advantage
- Interfere with Game Center, another player's device, or the app's operation
- Copy or redistribute trivia banks, artwork, audio, or other protected content except as law permits
Built-in bot opponents provided by Trivington are part of the intended game and are permitted.
4. Multiplayer and Fairness
Online matches run peer-to-peer over Apple GameKit. One peer is deterministically elected as the authoritative match host and validates progression, answer timing, scoring, disconnect outcomes, and tie-breakers. The optional Social service coordinates friend-challenge metadata and a short-lived rendezvous, but does not host or decide the match. This design reduces tampering but cannot eliminate every risk inherent in peer-to-peer play. Connectivity loss may cause a forfeit or a no-contest result under the game's published behavior.
5. Game Center, Trivington Social, and Player Content
Game Center identity, native invitations, Apple friends, leaderboards, achievements, and Apple's safety controls remain subject to Apple's terms. Trivington Social separately provides an exact handle and friend-code directory, mutual friendships, requests, blocks, reports, friend challenges, and optional access-controlled competitive profiles. It has no chat or public feed. You are responsible for the handle, display name, and reports you submit and must not use them to impersonate, harass, defame, or abuse others.
We may reject profile content, restrict Social actions, review reports, remove content, or suspend access when reasonably needed to enforce these terms, protect users, comply with law, or preserve the service. Blocking or reporting in Trivington Social is separate from Apple's Game Center controls. You may select a bundled Trivington avatar or explicitly choose your Game Center image. When competitive-profile sharing is enabled, the selected avatar and aggregate gameplay metrics are available only to eligible viewers described in the Privacy Policy.
6. Progression and Local Data
Gameplay profiles, match history, and category statistics are primarily stored on-device. Eligible signed-in progression may be backed up through your private iCloud key-value store. If you enable competitive-profile sharing, the optional Social service also stores the aggregate profile counters and avatar described in the Privacy Policy; it does not store individual match records, opponents, questions, answers, or daily performance buckets. You are responsible for maintaining access to your Apple Account and device backups. Reset Local Data permanently removes Trivington's local gameplay data and its progression backup, but it does not delete a Social account or reset Game Center records controlled by Apple. Use “Delete Trivington Social Account” in Social Profile settings to delete the public service-side profile, shared competitive profile and avatar, friendships, requests, challenges, and notification registrations without affecting local progression or Game Center data. A minimal stable identity link and block/report safety records may be retained to prevent deletion and recreation from bypassing safety controls.
7. Trivia Content
Trivia content is provided for entertainment. We work to improve accuracy and welcome correction reports, but questions may contain errors, become outdated, or depend on interpretation. Do not rely on the app as professional, legal, medical, financial, or safety advice.
8. Availability and Changes
We may change, add, or remove features and content. Apple services, the Cloudflare-hosted Social service, network conditions, device compatibility, maintenance, or events outside our control may interrupt online features. Social failures do not change the local question bank or progression, and bot play may remain available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability or permanent preservation of local data.
9. Intellectual Property
The app's code, original design, branding, artwork, audio, and curated content are owned by Trivington or its licensors and are protected by applicable law. Third-party names and marks belong to their respective owners; reference to them does not imply endorsement.
10. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the app is provided “as is” and “as available,” without implied warranties. Trivington is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of the app. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or liability that cannot legally be excluded.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms when the app or applicable requirements change. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms where permitted by law.
