Support is handled by a small team. We read every message and reply as quickly as we can — usually within a few business days.

Helpful details to include (all optional, none sensitive):

  • App version and build (Settings → About in the app)
  • iOS version
  • Device model (e.g. iPhone 15 Pro, iPad Air)
  • Approximate time the issue happened
  • Whether the match was online or against a bot
  • Any error message you saw (nothing sensitive)

Please never send passwords, verification codes, authentication tokens, or any other credentials. We will never ask for them.

Game Center sign-in

  • Trivington uses Apple Game Center as its only sign-in. There is no Trivington password — if you can use Game Center, you can play online.
  • Check iOS Settings → Games (called Game Center on older iOS versions) and make sure you're signed in with your Apple Account.
  • If sign-in keeps failing, toggle Game Center off and on in iOS Settings, then relaunch Trivington.
  • No Game Center? The app still works: you'll play full matches against local bot opponents with progression saved on your device.

Matchmaking

  • Quick match searches for a Game Center opponent in your chosen category. If nobody appears within about 15 seconds, a bot match starts automatically so you're never stuck waiting.
  • Matchmaking naturally finds more opponents in popular categories; the search also widens automatically toward a global pool.
  • A weak or switching connection (Wi-Fi ↔ cellular) can interrupt live matches. A match that ends before any question is revealed is voided as a no-contest — no win, loss, or stats for either player.
  • Both players need a working internet connection and Game Center for online play.

Playing offline & bots

  • Every question ships inside the app, so bot matches work with no network at all — including airplane mode. Choose “Play Offline” if the connection prompt appears.
  • Bot matches count toward your local progression, XP, titles, and category mastery.
  • Online features (matchmaking, invitations, leaderboards, Trivington Social) return automatically when you're back online and signed in to Game Center.

Friend invites & challenges

  • Game Center invites use Apple's native friends list. Both players need Game Center accounts that allow multiplayer and invitations.
  • Trivington friend challenges require both players to be mutual Trivington Social friends. A challenge connects you directly when both sides accept and are ready.
  • Challenges expire if they're not accepted in time — just send a fresh one.
  • If a challenge connection times out, return to the Social tab and try again; friend challenges never hand you off to a bot.

Trivington Social availability

  • Trivington Social (handles, mutual friends, challenges) is optional and runs on a separate service. If it's temporarily unreachable, quick match, Game Center invites, bot play, and your local progression are unaffected.
  • Social requires a Game Center account in good standing. Accounts with multiplayer or communication restrictions — including child accounts with parental restrictions — can't create or use a Social profile. That's by design; the rest of the game remains fully playable.
  • You can block or report a player from their profile in the Social tab. Blocking in Trivington Social is separate from Apple's Game Center controls.

Notifications

  • Trivington asks for notification permission once, after your second completed match — never at first launch.
  • Not receiving friend or challenge notifications? Check iOS Settings → Notifications → Trivington, and make sure Focus modes aren't silencing the app.
  • Social notifications are advisory hints; the app always refreshes the real state when you open it, so nothing is lost if a notification doesn't arrive.

Progression backup & restore

  • For signed-in Game Center players, profile progression and category mastery are backed up automatically to your private iCloud storage. Detailed match history stays on the device only.
  • On a new device: sign in to the same Apple Account (with iCloud Drive enabled) and Game Center, then launch Trivington — your progression merges automatically, keeping the stronger record.
  • Guest profiles (playing without Game Center) are never backed up; sign in to Game Center to carry progress across devices.

Resetting & deleting data

  • Reset local data: Settings → Reset Local Data removes your local profile, match history, category mastery, custom avatar, and Trivington's iCloud progression backup. This can't be undone.
  • Delete your Social account: Settings → Social Profile → Delete Social Account. This removes your handle, friend code, shared profile, friendships, requests, challenges, and notification registrations. Local progression and Game Center data are not affected.
  • Deleting the app removes local data from the device but does not by itself delete a Social account — use the in-app deletion first if you want it gone.
  • Details are in the Privacy Policy.
